Australian Shepherd Good Day

Good Morning Ladies,
I am headed out to judge a fun match with a friend today. It is a 4-H event up in Michigan. I am looking forward to a fun day with 4-H kids. As you know kids are the future of our sport.
My card for today is Australian Shepherd Good Day
An agility card is fitting for me today. This card started with the good day block. It is from the Graphics 45 Typography pad. This was cut and inked with brown color box ink. All edges were inked with brown color box ink using a cat's eye pad. The background paper that covers the card base is from the same pad. The Australian Shepherd jumping the jump image is from Dog Stamps Plus. It is stamped on a piece of Basic Grey card stock that has been hanging around here forever. I seem to use bits and pieces of it and it has lasted it seems like forever. The paw print stamped in the corner is from an unknown company. A black ribbon is knotted at the bottom.

Jaded Blossom Baby Shoes

Good Morning Ladies,
Lovely weather again this morning. I love spring, summer, and fall! Dog show season is in it's height and glory right now. Life is good.
Today's card is Jaded Blossom Baby Shoes
A friend of mine needed two baby cards to welcome new babies into the family. I ordered this stamp set by Jaded Blossom. I just love baby shoes. Oh let's face it I love all shoes! The baby shoes were stamped on Bristol paper. They were then colorized using Prisma pencil and Gamsol. Next they were hand cut. The main color of the card needed to be yellow. So I picked the daisy embossed card stock from K&Company. I have had this card stock in my stash for sometime. I think I used the last sheet to create the baby cards. The Sizzix Frame-lits circle set was used to cut the circles that the baby shoes sit on. The baby shoes are popped up with pop squares. A spellbinders label set was used for the sentiment on the front as well as the inside. A sheer ribbon and pearl slide top this card off.

Honey Bee

Good Morning Ladies,
Thursday morning already! It is beautiful outside. Perfect weather.
My card for today is Honey Bee
This card was created using the stamp set I won over at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/ a couple of weeks ago. Carcie's heart & home set #JCS178. I had to use it again as I love the circle bee stamp. The cardstock that covers the base of the card is from the Graphics 45 pad French Country. This is probably me least favorite of all the papers in that pad. But combined with this stamp set I love it! The bee was stamped on gold cardstock and cut with the Sizzix Frame-lits die set as well as the layers beneath and the sentiment. The lacey piece at the top is from the same stamp set. Buttons accent this card. A green ribbon tops this card off.
A close-up of the sentiment.
A close-up of the bee.

You're a Star Flip It

Good Morning Ladies,
I think I have recovered from the long holiday weekend. I am up and at it this morning. So much to do!
My card for today is You're a Star Flip It ...
This card started with the exclusive The Stamps of Life fancy edge flip-its die. You get all the pieces and parts to create wonderful fun cards. The base is cut from yellow card stock. The side pieces were cut from water paper from DCWV. The star turtle is an image and a sentiment from the Craft Lounge.  The set is called bubbles. The turtle was stamped on Bristol paper and colorized with Copic markers and then hand cut. In the next photo you will see the inside or the flip side. A star fish and shell were added. For the finishing touch sea glass was added to the bottom.
This is the flip side. The inside sentiment is from the Stamps of Life.
A view to show the flip.

Handle with Care Giraffes

Good Morning Ladies,
It was a great dog show weekend! It was so good to see so many friends.
My card for today is Handle with Care Giraffes....
I love giraffes and have lots of giraffe stamps. This card started with the Magenta giraffes. They were stamped on Bristol paper. They were then colorized with Copic markers and Tim Holtz distressed inks. The handle with care sign was stamped on tan card stock with archival ink. These two pieces were mounted on Corragated DCWV card stock. Beads were strung on waxed beading cord.

You can see and enter the challenge here.... http://joanstouch.blogspot.com/2014/05/i-love-hearing-from-you-so-please-leave.html
The requirements for the challenge this week are as follows:
Use a die
Use black on the card
Use embellishments
You must use a product that can be purchased at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/
Head on over and see all of the wonderful products Terri has in store for you.
Here is my card....
This card started with the Graphics 45 pad Couture. The card base is covered in a black multi colored paper from this pad. You can buy Graphics 45 pads from Terri over a http://www.atjoansgardens.com/ Next came the fair maiden from Honesty set by Sheena Douglass. This set is from Crafter's Companion. I believe Terri is carrying stamps from Crafter's Companion. The maiden was colorized using Prisma pencil and Gamsol. She was then hand cut. I place a double die mat behind her. It was cut using the Sizzix Thin-lits tags rounded set #657568. These can be ordered from Terri. The top mat is also from the Graphics 45 Couture pad. The little rabbit at the feet of the maiden is cut from Impression Obsession  DIE168-C. I purchased this die set from Terri over at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/ I thought he looked right in place among the floral print and the maidens feet. The flowers were cut using a sizzix rolled rose die. A pearl sprig pops out from behind the flowers. The bow was added last. The bow was created from my new die I ordered from Terri. The bow die is from Creative Expressions. It is the classic 3D bow. This is my latest purchase from Joan's Gardens. I love it. It was easy to created. A flower graces the center of the bow.
A close-up of the maiden and the rabbit.

Tall Ship With Love

Good Morning Ladies,
The weather has warmed up and even with the storms it is way better than the snow. There is so much fun to be had this summer!
Today my card is Tall Ship With Love
To create this card I started with the rope frame image from Stampendous. It was stamped on Bristol paper and colorized with Copic markers. It was then cut by hand. The tall ship is a vintage embossed cut. I had to hand cut it too so that it would fit my oval. The blue oval that lays underneath is cut with a Sizzix frame-lits die set. I am loving the frame-lits as well as my spellbinders die set. The background paper that covers the card base is Graphics 45 from the botanical tea collection. Graphics 45 paper seems to work with so many things. To top this card off a gray tied ribbon graces the bottom.
The inside sentiment is from TPC.

Joan's Touch Challenge #14

Good Morning Ladies,
Last week and early this week just got away from me. I took my dad and uncle camping for four days last week. A good time was had by all despite the weather.
Today I have a card for Joan's Touch Challenge #14 You can see and join the challenge here http://joanstouch.blogspot.com/2014/05/i-love-hearing-from-you-so-please-leave.html
The requirements this week are as follows:
Use a die
Use black on the card.
Use embellishments.
Use something that can be purchased at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/
And here is my card.....
I received a package from Terri at Joan's Gardens the other day. And in it was what I ordered and my prize from winning the challenge a couple of weeks ago. My prize was Darcie's Heart and Home stamp set JCS178. Now Terri could not have picked a better prize for me. It is a bee stamp set and I just love it!! This challenge was perfect to use this set. Thanks Terri! The clover and bee image was stamped on Bristol paper and colorized with Prisma pencil and Gamsol. I then set about finding out how I could make this work for the challenge. I grabbed my Sizzix oval frame-lits die set #657563. This can purchased at Joan's. I created the card base out of black using this die set. I set the die on the edge of a fold and cut it to make a card. Next I took Cheery Lynn die DL153 Polynesian Sails Oval and cut it out of yellow. I purchased this die from Joan's Gardens.  I placed this on top of the card base that I made. The stamped image was cut with the same Sizzix die set. I then added my embellishments which is a black pearl sprig and a sheer white bow.
The card opened to the inside.
The inside sentiment. This sentiment is from the same prize set.
Thanks once again for a great challenge Joan!

Victorian Boy with King Charles Spaniel

Good Morning Ladies,
Happy Mother's Day to my mom and all the other mom's out there! I am off to the dog show again today. But before I leave this morning I am bringing a card to you. A little early in the morning but here none the less. Victorian Boy with King Charles Spaniel
This is another vintage German cut. I love working with these cuts. The background paper is from a friend of mine. I have no clue who produced it, but I loved the imagery on it. It seemed to fit well with my boy. I used the left over from the Spellbinders die set that I used on yesterday's card. I love when that happens. It is backed with gold cardstock. I then cut the darker gold die cut with a different Spellbinders die set. The boy was placed on top. A green ribbon graces the bottom. Three rolled roses created using a Sizzix die tops this card off.

This card started with one of the new Poppet stamps that I ordered. This ballerina is just precious. I stamped her on Bristol paper and colorized her with Copic markers. She called out for Graphics 45 paper. This is the botanical tea collection. The circle and frame with cut with a Spellbinder die set. The roses were created with a Sizzix rolled rose die. A crystal sprig tops this card off.
Now off to get ready for tomorrow's dog show.

Joan's Challenge #12 Embossing Folder

Good Morning Ladies,
I woke up to rain this morning. It's ok though because it is still warm out. The rain will help green things up more. And that is a good thing.
This morning I have another card for Joan's Challenge #12 Embossing Folder
The requirements for this weeks challenge is as follows:
Use an embossing folder.
Use butterflies.
Use a sentiment.
You must use something that can be purchased at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/
You can see and join the challenge here.... http://joanstouch.blogspot.com/2014/05/challenge-12.html
And now for my second entry...
I wanted to use some of my new dies on this card. So the dog is from the Impression Obsession dog die set #DIE170-R. This die set has 6 different dogs. Of course I love it! This die set was purchased from Terri at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/ I cut the dog in brown. Next I needed to chose a embossing folder. I used the Cuttlebug folder Script. I cut this from blue cardstock and inked it in a darker blue using a cat's eye ink pad. You can buy cat's eye ink pads at Joan's gardens. Cat's eye ink pads are my choice for inking edges and such. When I use a dog a fence always comes to mind. So I used a fence die from Cheery Lynn. It is Victorian Picket Fence die #B123. I cut this out of dsp. I bought this fence die at Joan's Gardens. My butterflies were cut out of blue card stock using Cheery Lynn die set Tiny Things With Wings B266. This was also purchased at Joan's Gardens. My sentiment is from Red Rubber Designs. I stamped the sentiment on a die cut from Spellbinders die set Fancy Tags #S4-235. You can purchased Spellbinders sets from Terri over at Joan's Gardens. My background paper that covers the card base is from K&Company.
 This is the inside sentiment.

Joan's Touch Challenge #12

Good Morning Ladies,
Warmer weather has arrived!! Sunshine, birds returned, green grass....tha's what I am talking about. I love it!
It's time for another new weekly challenge at http://joanstouch.blogspot.com/2014/05/challenge-12.html
So today I have made a card for Joan's Touch Challenge #12
The requirement this week are as follows:
Use an embossing folder.
Use butterflies.
Use a sentiment.
You must use something you can purchase at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/
Challenges that include embossing folders are good for me as I buy embossing folders but rarely use them. Since the last time a challenge used an embossing folder I have started to use my collection. For this card I used an old embossing folder technique. I took a Cuttlebug embossing folder from the freashly picked set #2000041 and ran it through my machine with a piece of clear plastic from a product package. I love to re-purpose if I can. I then want to colorize it. So I used Rangers alcohol inks in the colors of shell pink and watermelon. I added these using the watermelon first and then the shell pink. I rubbed these across with a sponge pad and then started to add the blending solution to tone it down an mix it. You can purchase ranger products from Terri over at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/ This technique works perfect on product plastic. I attatched this to the pink dotted paper with Beacon 3 in 1 glue. I had this stamped image in mind to go with the mushroom embossing folder. The stamp set is from Crafter's Companion. It is the Jessica set. I see that Terri is offering Crafter's Companion stamp sets now. I am so excited as I love them! So these stamps can be purchased a Joan's. I stamped her on Bristol paper and colorized her with Copic markers. There is more to this image but I just cut the fairy on the mushroom. The sentiment came from the same set. What goes better with a fairy than the Fairytale Flower Border #98473 die from Memory Box. I purchased this at Joan's. It is cut from white glitter paper and placed under the fairy. For my butterfly I used Cheery Lynn die set Tiny Things With Wings #B266. I purchased this die set from Joan's. It is a must have for card makers as you get more than just the butterfly.White buttons top this card off.
A close up of the embossed piece.
A closer look at the fairy.
I am now loving embossing folders. Thanks Joan for another great challenge!

Life Is Dog

Good Morning Ladies,
I missed blogging yesterday. Not enough time and a long day. The sun was shinning and life is good. So today my card is Life Is Dog
This card started with the little dog sticking out his tongue. I don't know what stamp company he is from. I bought him from a stamping group on-line and there is no maker on the stamp. But I thought he was a cute little fellow. He is stamped with Memento ink on Bristol paper. He is colorized with Prisma pencil, Gamsol, and Copic marker. His head was stamped and cut again and popped up with a double layer of pop squares. Layer with red and a two tone blue diamond dsp he really pops off the card. The sentiment rings true. The sentiment is from Red Rubber Designs. This is a great set with the last half of all sayings standing alone.
A side view of his popped head.

#1 dog

Good Morning Ladies,
I had a great time at the dog show this weekend. Dude won a best in show and won two more legs toward his grand championship. Only one more leg to go! Thanks for all the help handling Beth and Kallie.
So for today's card I have a #1 dog card...
To create this card I started with the dog corner embossing folder that my friend brought back to me from the stamp convention in Ohio. It is by Darice. It was embossed onto a piece of tan textured cardstock. It was then inked with color box ink cat's eye pads in two colors. The blue ribbon die cut was created with an older Sizzix die. The #1 was stamped in the center. That image is from the stamps of life. A small rolled rose cut with a Sizzix die tops this card off.
This is the inside of the card.

Joan's Challenge #11 altered

Good Morning Ladies,
I had a wonderful time at the dog show yesterday. Dude was expertly handled by Beth and came home with a BIS. It was awesome! I am going back for another round today. But before I leave I want to post my last entry this week for Joan's Challenge #11 altered
You can see and join in the challenges here http://joanstouch.blogspot.com/2014/04/challenge-11.html
The requirements for the challenge this week are as follows:
Make an altered art project.
Use an item the can be purchased at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/
I have really enjoyed this weeks challenge. This is my third and final entry for this week. I want to thank Joan for the wonderful challenges and Terri for all the wonderful product she stocks.
So here it is.....
This journal started out life as a composition book. The very last photo is of the naked composition book. This is one of my favorite things to alter. My go to paper again this time was Graphics 45. This time it was the French Country 12X12 pad. Graphics 45 can be purchased at Joan's Gardens from Terri. The sunflower background was added first. Then the chicken strip at the bottom was added. For the focal point of this journal I cut a mat out of brown. Next was a piece of tan textured cardstock. I stenciled using the new Memory Box Texture Chicken Wire stencil using vintage photo distressed ink pad from Tim Holtz and sponged it over the stencil. The stencil is #88535. I purchased this at Joan's Gardens from Terri. I love these stencils! Next was my new Rooster die set by the Frantic Stamper. I purchased this die at Joan's Gardens from Terri. The main body is cut from the same tan textured paper as the stenciled background. The top layer is cut from rust cardstock. The postcard from the pad was placed over the stenciled piece. A ribbon down the spine creates a bookmark for this journal. Feathers were added to the bottom of the ribbon to follow the poultry theme.
A closer look at the front of the journal.

Tou Tou the poodle & Graphics 45

Good Morning Ladies,
My friend went to the stamp show last weekend in Ohio and brought back some goodies for me. Can't wait to use them! She also saw the Brother Scanncut. I did some research on the net and it looks awesome!
My card for today is Tou Tou the poodle & Graphics 45
My base card is covered in a floral paper from the Graphics 45 pad Botanical Tea. As well as the calling card in the center and the pink that frames that calling card. All the edges are inked in brown color box ink using a cat's eye pad. The flowers were created using the black eyed susan die by Cheery Lynn. One of the flowers in the top corner has a pink paisley dragon fly hanging from it. Tou Tou the poodle stands at the bottom. This is one of the new dies from the Frantic Stamper. Sheer ribbon with a touch of gold graces the side of this card.
A close-up of the flowers.

Joan's Touch Challenge #11 Graphics 45

Good Morning Ladies,
Thursday is here already. Time is flying once again. There are not enough hours in a day to create all I want to create. But I am thankful for the time I have.
I have created a second altered project for Joan's Touch Challenge #11 Graphics 45 You can see and enter the challenge here.... http://joanstouch.blogspot.com/2014/04/challenge-11.html
This is the first project I started to for this challenge. It took a little longer to create than the project from yesterday. So it got posted second as it was not finished to post yesterday.
The challenge requirements for this week are as follows:
Make an altered project.
Use something that can be purchased at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/
So here we go....
This project started life as a plain Jane Karen Foster blank mini book. I altered the cover first. It has the word Journey embossed in the cover. Karen Foster did that for me. I love the word journey because life and all of it's parts and pieces are a journey. I decided this mini book deserved to be celebrated by using the Graphics 45 Botanical Tea 8X8 pad that I purchased from Terri at http://www.atjoansgardens.com/ I used the small calling cards and mini stamps from the pad throughout the mini book.  So those two items were placed on the book first. I then added the flowers. The flowers consist of two little satin roses, a little larger sheer ivory rose, rolled roses created using a Sizzix die, and a layered flower created using the Black Eyed Susan Cheery Lynn die. The Black Eyed Susan die was purchased at Joan's Gardens. I love that die as it makes more than just a Black Eyed Susan. Buttons came next...yes buttons glorious buttons. I love buttons and think they give a vintage look. Pearl sprigs were added under the flowers. A single feather was the last addition to the book cover. Ribbon and fiber was added to the rings that bind this book together. Scroll down to see the rest of the book. There are spaces for photos. The inside pages were stark white and that would not do with the Graphics 45 paper. So all pages had Tim Holtz distressed stain in the color of Vintage Photo rubbed over them for a match to the vintage look of Graphics 45.
A closer look at the cover.
This is the first inside page.
Each page set has this layout.
Ribbon and buttons were added to each calling card and stamp.
The pages on the right have a place for a photo.
The calling cards give space to journal on.

This is the back page with more room for writing.
This book stands up well for display.
This mini book could be filled with photos of you little girls tea party with photos printed in sepia or it would be a wonderful Mother's day gift with vintage photos added.
This was so fun and easy to make. Graphics 45 and Terri are the key to this mini book.
Thanks Joan this was a wonderful challenge!
Happy Scraps,
Mrs. Swandog
